store they opened in November 2006.
After many months of planning and multiple revisions to their business and marketing plans, sisters Rachel & Jill Tarr opened Back On The Rack, an upscale used clothing and accessory store for men and women in Easthampton Center.
Rachel & Jill write:
"Back on the Rack sells quality used clothing, shoes and accessories for men and women. Our store has been open since November and is owned and run by Western Mass natives and sisters Rachel and Jill Tarr. Our store offers a comfortable, fun and low-key shopping experience in downtown Easthampton. Our products range from comfortable, everyday clothing and shoes to suits, gowns and beyond.
The CDC was invaluable to the startup of Back on the Rack. In the very early stages of development, Gene and Stacy helped us figure out what our financial needs would be, formulate a business plan, and decide whether that plan was realistic and feasible. They continue to be an excellent sounding board to run ideas by and are a great resource for new marketing and advertising methods. Without the Valley CDC, it would have been very difficult to open our new business and continue to attract new customers. We highly recommend anyone who is thinking of opening a new business, or already owns their own business, to go talk with Gene and Stacy. It can only help and it’s free!"
