We offer the following housing services to residents of our service area:
First Time Homebuyer Program
We provide homebuyer counseling to prospective first time homebuyers
through workshops, confidential one-on-one meetings and access or
referrals for down payment and closing cost assistance.
Ongoing 4 week first time homebuyer classes run monthly January - November at various locations across the Valley. This workshop series is certified by Mass Housing, CHAPA and Mass Housing Partnership. See schedule for next session.
Sustainable Homeownership
We counsel homebuyers and homeowners on credit repair, debt reduction and financing home repairs.
Northampton Housing Rehabilitation Program
With assistance from the City of Northampton, Valley provides deferred
payment loans to low and moderate income homeowners to eliminate health
and safety code violations in their homes.
Financial Literacy Workshops
In partnership with Florence Savings Bank, Valley sponsors basic
financial literacy education, which including improving money
management skills, budgeting, the importance of credit, debt reduction,
and consumer advocacy. Check the schedule for times and dates.
For Developers
Valley also offers marketing and outreach to developers of affordable
for-sale homes. We have served as marketing agent at the Ice Pond
development in Northampton. We are currently marketing the Palley
Village condominium complex being developed in Amherst.
